Professor of Optical Microscopy
Professor Amanda Wright is Professor of Optical Microscopy in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Nottingham and a member of the Optics and Photonics Research Group. Her multidisciplinary lab specialises in developing bespoke optical instruments to image, measure and perturb biological systems. Before joining Nottingham she was Associate Team Leader at the Institute of Photonics University of Strathclyde and prior to that studied for her PhD (Optics) in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester.
She held a Royal Academy of Engineering/EPSRC Personal Research Fellowship that finished in 2016 on Adaptive Microscopy. She is the Nottingham lead on the InLightenUs project and is working to develop novel wavefront correction approaches to increase imaging depth in biological sample.
