Duanyang Xu is a third year PhD student supervised by Prof. David Richardson and Prof. Sumeet Mahajan in the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at University of Southampton. He got his BS in Physics at Nanjing University working with two-dimensional electron spectroscopy and CNT/Graphene mode-locked lasers. He completed Photonic Technologies MSc Program at ORC and worked with Dr Jonathan Price to develop cross/auto-correlation measurement methods.

His PhD projects involve temporal & spatial pulse shaping, nonlinear optics, biological imaging optics such as OPA/OPO based CARS/SHG/TPAF microscopy source. He has been involved in laser systems with visible, near infrared and mid infrared wavelength regions.
