Research Fellow in Time Resolved Biomedical Imaging
Dr Alistair Gorman is a Research Fellow based at the University of Edinburgh. As part of the InLightenUs project, he is carrying out research in the use of time-resolving detector arrays for deep tissue imaging. He has a background in physics, remote-sensing, image-processing, systems engineering and medical optics.
His previous research at Heriot-Watt University and the University of Glasgow includes the modelling of light-tissue interaction and the spectral imaging of tissue, for the retrieval of anatomical and physiological parameters. He has also spent eight years in industry, at Optos and Sense Photonics, working on research and development of scanning-laser ophthalmoscopes, optical-coherence tomography systems, and time of flight cameras.
