A Healthcare Vision for 2050

EPSRC InLightenUs Director Prof Mark Bradley explains that by 2050 there will be over 2 billion people world wide aged over 60 and how aging populations’ present new  health challenges such as muscle and bone loss, bone diseases and cancers as well as the associated reductions in quality of life. He describes how a new and exciting interdisciplinary research team will use medical optical imaging to develop unique treatment options for the healthcare needs of 2050

InLightenUs Patient Engagement

On 11th October 2021, a special online patient engagement event was hosted by EPSRC InLightenUs in partnership with the UK charity Versus Arthritis. The event saw keynote speakers Richard Oreffo, Professor of Musculoskeletal Science, University of Southampton and Hamish Simpson, Professor of Orthopaedics & Trauma, University of Edinburgh in conversation with people who live with joint and bone disease.
